A time between worlds...

Our world is increasingly difficult to make sense of. We find ourselves in over our heads, and the stakes are high. Navigating this complexity requires transformation, with new ways of thinking, greater access to the wisdom of our emotional intelligence (and beyond), and our ability to have real agency in the midst of uncertainty.I am a guide for those leaders and organizations seeking to bring about genuine change that is equal to the challenges we face. I am an executive coach, a facilitator, and an organizational culture builder using transformational coaching conversations, complexity thinking, and powerful inquiry to help organizations, teams, and individuals flourish.Together we can orient to true value, form deep connections, and discover joy in the midst of it all. I can help you navigate this transformational journey at both the individual and collective levels.

Core Offerings

Leadership Coaching & Executive "Sparring", for execs/leaders, owners, and teams
Expect: Heightened awareness, improved sense-making, greater emotional fluidity for relationships and decision-making, and a space for excellent strategic thinking - with a "sparring partner" - about issues both internal and external to your organization. All coaching is placed in the larger context of organizational development rather than merely personal growth.
Cohorts/learning communities of “leaders as coaches” for the broad development of leadership as an organizational capacity.
Expect: A shift in leadership culture to greater interdependence and collaboration with improved change agility. Leadership is an organizational capacity, not an individualistic quality. This capacity is built by design.
Group coaching and facilitation for teams to create trust, work with conflict, and do great work together
Expect: Teams are the primary unit of driving results and the engagement of your people. Imagine the impact you could make if your team found its own unique way to excellence rather than being measured against some generic "best practices."

The work is personal

I am the grateful husband to Isis (una diosa verdadera); father to three adult children; brother to Sue, and to Dan (whose spirit remains with me always); son to Ronald Sr. and Patricia. I grew in Ohio soil, was formed philosophically and ethically as a Peace Corps volunteer in the remote mountains of southern Honduras, and was professionally forged through leadership development work as a grassroots community organizer in Colorado. I currently call Bellingham home.I believe relationships and connections are at the heart of meaningful systemic change. I believe that systems have interiors. I believe that the only thing I've done in my career is build social capital, create reciprocal relationships, and foster the conditions for transformation. My primary work is as a coach. A client once told me that I consult like a coach, I facilitate like a coach. The coaching orientation is more virtue than method. The virtue is a reverent honoring of the person in relationship to the broader community, sensitive to history and impacts. It is a fundamental belief in the potential, creativity, and wisdom of a person.I have learned, using the words of the poet John O'Donohue, that "what you encounter, recognize or discover depends to a large degree on the quality of your approach.... when we approach with reverence, great things decide to approach us." I facilitate experiences and conversations which help teams and change leaders rise to the occasion. My mastery is in genuine dialogue, generative listening, and the facilitation of transformation. For the leader going through transitions, I help design talent and leadership development strategy, with a specific focus on leadership development, coaching, and creating deliberately developmental organizations. What would it look like to have a truly transformational impact in our work together? What would it be like if we bumped into each other 10 years from now and looked back on our work together as one of those pivotal moments in both our vocational lives? This is the only way I care to approach my relationships. If these questions intrigue you and resonate with you, let’s explore working together.
